Topman SS15
The 1960s were a focal point for woman's wear Autumn/Winter 2014 collections however it seems that this trend hasn't continued onto menswear Spring/Summer 2015… well that is according to the Topman collection. Who, proudly stated that low slung flares are completely back in with as the continuous stream of models walked out donning the 70s silhouette.
The collection was all together a rather floral affair with enlarged canary yellow sunflowers paired with beige brown corduroy trousers. Topman also presented to us the male kimono, tied at the models waist in a sky blue and bright yellow tropical print with matching long line shorts.
The models walked to a soundtrack of ‘Soul Central- Strings of Life’ and ‘Blur – Girls and Boys’ as their unkempt hair fell into off centered middle partings above square aviator spectacles fusing together the 90s and 70s, which Topman have labeled themselves ‘seventiesnineties’.
Double denim, matchy-matchy suits and khaki Parker jackets with fluffy hoods and floral lining captured the mood of the 70s with modern-day wearable precision. The 70s silhouette allowed the over-sized awkward shirt collars to come peeping over the zigzag jumpers and buttoned up waistcoats.
The ‘seventiesnineties’ thrown together with florals and pastel tailoring, boys can you handle it for SS15?
